Flower Friday – Marigold

Marigolds
For years that we end up encountering early spring frosts or late fall chills, Marigolds are the ideal choice to extend the blooming season of your flower garden due to their hardiness.
Marigolds generously offer continuous blossoms for a remarkable span of 6-8 months throughout the year. The only task required is to diligently deadhead them.
Attracting pollinators can often prove challenging, but fear not! By simply planting Marigold flowers, you’ll witness the delightful arrival of bees, butterflies, and birds in abundance.
When it comes to insect resistance, Marigolds are a force to be reckoned with. However, they do have a vulnerability—spider mites. Swift action must be taken to combat these tiny pests, as they can swiftly devastate Marigolds if left unchecked.
Among the threats that loom over Marigold cultivation, drought reigns supreme. Adequate and consistent watering is crucial for the flourishing growth and blooming prowess of Marigold plants. Deprived of water, expect minimal to no blooms to grace your garden.
