Winner of 2019 Residential Landscape Construction
This project was awarded 2019 Residential Landscape Construction by Landscape Newfoundland and Labrador Awards of Landscape Excellence.
An outdoor living space to be used in shoulder seasons as well as summertime.
The living space required enough seating for 12 people around the central fire. The floor consisted of varying shades of rectilinear sandstone and pavers laid in a random pattern.
This fireplace enclosure was covered by a 25 x 25 ft open ended peak roof which was shingled with cedar shake over an ice shield membrane underlay. The under roof capped with solid cedar plank. Evening accent lighting complemented the architecture. The four support legs were detailed with veneer stone work and custom moulding. Extra power outlets in the legs of the structure were also installed for the clients use.
Water supply had also been run underground to provide the option for an outdoor wet bar. The surrounding area was softscaped with appropriate perennial and shrub beds, topped with bark mulch.
